Fix a Running Toilet … Fill Valve Replacement– by Home Repair Tutor

The primary step is to turn the water off at the shut down valve. If the shut off valve is broken turn the water off at the house’s primary valve.

Then flush the toilet and hold the lever down up until the majority of the water drains from the tank. Utilize a sponge to remove the remainder of the water.

Loosen the water system line from the old fill valve, usage Channellock pliers if required. Get rid of the old fill valve and dry fit the 400H.

The top of the Fluidmaster 400H should be roughly 3″ from the top of the flush valve. In addition, the top of the flush valve should be 1″ listed below the tank lever area.

Adjust the 400H height by turning the black column clockwise or counterclockwise. Then cut the hose pipe to the ideal length so that it doesn’t capture on top of the toilet tank cover. Insert the hose pipe into the clamp and connect it to the flush valve.

Secure the 400H to the bottom of the toilet tank utilizing the provided nut, simply hand tighten it. And hand tighten up the supply of water line to the bottom of the 400H. Turn on the water at the shut down valve and look for leakages.
